A big thank you to Daphne Higbee for interviewing Maggie Shang and I about our collaboration on “Runaway Train,” the 8-page comic we did for the Let’s Go!: A Kids Comics Studio Anthology.
Daphne also included other great links in the article about collaborations. You can read it here:
As an author-only, I’m keeping my sites on finding a collaborator for some graphic novel scripts I’ve been working on, so I would love to hear any further tips in the comments on how you’ve created a successful collaboration.
And in other graphic novel news, KidLitGN just announced changes to their upcoming pitch event along with this informative article by agent Andrea Colvin:
The changes to the pitch event include allowing authors-only to post up to four pages of their script. And, thanks to input from an editor in the graphic novel industry, KidLitGN will password protect the pitch pages, once the pitch event is over, so that editors and agents can request access and view pitches throughout the year. The pitch event will run Oct. 7 through Oct. 31, but GN creators can pre-load their pitches as early as Oct. 3. Check out the website for more info.
And other news:
Brown Paper Fox, a publishing house in Canada, is open for submissions for a limited time and did state on IG that they are looking for MG graphic novels, along with other books.
Agent Janine Le is open for queries until May 13. Only 2 days left folks.
Chronicle Books is open for submissions until May 17.
Chad Beckerman, agent at The CAT Agency is offering portfolio reviews. Find the info on his IG account.
That’s it for now. Have a great week.
