KidLit Graphic Novel Pitch Event

I’m happy to be part of the KidLitGN team creating a community for KidLit graphic novel creators. We’ve been busy working on a pitch event that’s happening in one week! We’re trying a new approach by hosting the regular Twitter pitch event and a website pitch event. Here are the details:

On May 5, 2021 from 8 a.m.-8 p.m. EDT, we will host a Twitter pitch event. Un-agented authors/illustrators will pitch their MG and younger GN/hybrid projects using the hashtag #KidLitGN.

The website pitch event starts at 8 a.m. May 4 and ends 8 p.m. May 6, 2021, EDT. The window to add your pitch, however, starts on May 4 at 8 a.m. but ends May 5 at 11:59 p.m. EDT. Pitches after that time will be deleted. May 6 is an extra viewing day for agents/editors.

How they differ:

The website based event is open to un-agented authors/illustrators, plus un-agented illustrators-only. AND agented illustrators and agented authors/illustrators who have the go ahead from their agents to pitch their work to editors.

For the website event:

Un-agented authors/illustrators pitching GN/hybrid projects will post their pitches in the comments sections of the pages corresponding to the age category for their pitch: MG, Early GNs, and Comic-style (graphic) PBs. See: kidlitgn.com for details

Graphic Novel Pitch Event

Yes, it’s been a while. Yes, I’ve been busy. We’re winding down the move-in part after another overseas move. A much more difficult transition in the days of Covid. However, I’ve also been hopping with other good things too, like helping to organize the event pictured above. We’ve got less than a week away and I’m beyond excited to participate.

So, if you’ve got a graphic novel ready to submit, plan on joining this event. And check out the event info on the website at: https://kidlitgn.blogspot.com

If you’re interested in creating graphic novels for middle grade and younger, join the group at: https://www.facebook.com/groups/KidLitGN
